What is REALLY Holding You Back From Claiming Your Expert Status

Today, we are going to be talking about something that is going to be a game changer for you.

As I have been working with women over the last three years, training them to specialize in Pinterest services so that they can recapture their time and make more money and be able to do the things that they love throughout their day, I am often asked about how can I call myself an expert when I haven't worked with clients. So today we're going to talk about, what's really holding you back from owning your expert status as a Pinterest manager and what you can do to change that today so that you can start getting high-paying clients to build your Pinterest Virtual Assistant business. All right, so let's dig in.

What I keep hearing from a lot of people when they are looking at becoming a Pinterest Virtual Assistant and going from doing hourly work to specializing in Pinterest marketing, the biggest question that I get is about getting clients and calling yourself an expert when you haven't actually provided these services before. So the common thought is that you think that you need paying clients and testimonials before you can call yourself an expert.

Now, this is what I want you to understand. Because you're not claiming that expert status in Pinterest management, you're going to have potential clients that are going to feel that hesitation, they're going to hear that hesitation and they aren't going to be confident in hiring you as specifially a Pinterest virtual assistant. So it's going to make it a lot harder for you to be able to get clients to be able to get testimonials and experience to reach this idea of what you think you need to have in place before you can call yourself an expert.

So, I want to talk with you about that today, because it is simply not true. You can absolutely be an expert as a Pinterest manager, even if you have not yet had a paying client for this work. Okay. So hold on. We're going to work through it. I know that probably is just blowing your mind right now, but I want to tell you a story about a student of mine who worked with me to specialize in Pinterest services. She had been a virtual assistant doing general work before and started working with me to specialize in Pinterest. Within her first month she got that first Pinterest client, which was amazing, and then went on to book out her business and raise her prices in three months.

She went from having never offered Pinterest services before to booking out her business in three months and raising her prices. Okay. So that is exactly what I teach you to do. So the process that I go through is when you are connecting with people or people are looking for help from a Pinterest va, they're asking questions, I go through all the ways that you can connect with people when I'm training you to offer this new service. That's part of the whole deal is I want you to be confident going and getting clients and finding people to help. So we go through all of that.

Instead of dropping a link to a free PDF or your website, and just kind of putting yourself out there that way like most other people do, what I train you to do is to offer a free Pinterest strategy session. If someone is interested in looking at Pinterest marketing for their business, or if they have questions about Pinterest marketing that they're already on the platform, then you can offer a Pinterest account audit where you look through their account and you give them your professional feedback as the expert. So that's a really great way to connect with people and go ahead and start building trust.

So, we use that to start getting testimonials from people. So you can say I'm offering three free audits or strategy sessions for Pinterest marketing in exchange for testimonials because this is a new service in Pinterest management that I'm offering. And so the first thing that you have to come to terms with is that it is okay to be new. There is nothing wrong with that. That is a question that I get when people are offering this as a new service. Well, what do I say when they ask? Well, you're always honest because you're building a relationship with this potential client. And the last thing you want to do is to be dishonest. That is not where you want to go. If that is something that you would do, then this is probably not the place for you. I'm just going to tell you right now. Honesty and integrity are huge when you're building your business.

Always tell people, yes, you are a new Pinterest manager. However, you do have the knowledge to perform these services really well. If you're working with me, you're going to have me in your corner, backing you up to help you provide these services really well for people. So, if that's the first thing there's no shame in being new. I want you to tell yourself that. If you have kids like me and they are learning a new skill or they are learning a new sport or an activity, it's okay for them to be new and they're going to get better. And so when you're pricing your services, no, your service pricing is not going to match that of someone with three to five years of experience. So price accordingly for being new, we cover all of the pricing and everything, and how to set you up to know what your pricing should be to help you meet your goals and all of that when you work with me in my signature program. But you want to make sure that you're okay with being new. Take ownership of that. But you have the knowledge.

Get the knowledge to be an expert, to have the confidence that, "Yes, I can absolutely do this".

That's why starting with these audits and strategy sessions as a Pinterest va are so helpful, not only for building relationships and building out your network and earning people's trust that you can tell them what's going on and show that you actually know what you're talking about, because you can confidently talk about what's best for Pinterest marketing and if they're ready or not. Or, look over their website and see if they have all the pieces in place to really benefit from Pinterest marketing. Or look over their account and give them some tips and feedback to improve. That's going to showcase your knowledge.

So leading with that, it's going to do two things for you. It's going to build your confidence that you are an expert Pinterest VA, that you do know what you're talking about, and it's going to build that potential client or that just person that you're networking and connecting with. It's going to build their confidence in your expert status as a Pinterest virtual assistant as well.

I want you to get comfortable with being new.

Never shy away from that. There's nothing wrong with it. When you're working with me, I tell people to tell them that you have a mentor who has been in Pinterest marketing for five plus years, and I have trained you and I am backing you up with the services that you're providing. That's a big vote of confidence that the ladies that work with me get is that they have me on their side, I'm in their corner, and I'm there to back them up.

If you're interested in learning how to provide Pinterest marketing services, then email me, reach out, go check out my website. I would love to hear from you and see if you would be a good fit to work with me on getting the skills that you need to be confident in being an expert.

You want to make sure that you are getting the knowledge, make sure you're getting the knowledge because that's going to give you that confidence to claim that expert status as a Pinterest VA. Get some testimonials under your belt from those audits and strategy sessions, that way your head's going to be in a better space. Your mindset's going to be better in saying like, yes, you've walked through things a couple of times with people. You can offer a discount on an account set up for your first one, again in exchange for a testimonial. Always make sure that you are getting those testimonials for sure because that's going to build your confidence and potential client confidence.

But owning the fact that you're new, owning the fact that you can be new and still know what you're doing and still charge people for that is going to be a game changer for how you get on calls with potential clients and how you show up for them so that they will feel the confidence that you have and feel confident in hiring you as their Pinterest manager. So it's all going to start with you and how you present yourself. So being honest and confident in your work will make your potential clients feel comfortable hiring you. So that you can get those really solid database testimonials that say my account has grown X amount while working with them, I've gotten X amount of a website, traffic working with them, and you can really have that data that really just backs up the fact that you are the best person for the job.

Starting small, price correctly for being a new Pinterest virtual assistant, and then once you start working with people and you start gathering testimonials and your confidence builds, and you're seeing that the work that you're doing is getting your clients' results, then raise your prices. And continue to get new testimonials, get permission from your clients to share their data, to show the growth that you have provided for your clients, and continue to build your confidence as a Pinterest VA ninja.

It's so important that you continue to get that data even after you kind of get over that new phase, but go out there, find people to help, get testimonials, show up as the expert that you are, and make sure that you have the information to back all of that up. And you are going to be on your way to having a Pinterest Virtual Assistant business that is going to give you the time freedom that you were looking for when you started working from home as a virtual assistant.

Again, get started with those free audits and strategy sessions to get testimonials, to get your name out there, to show yourself that you know, what you're talking about when these people that you're connecting with are so thankful for the information that you're giving them. That is going to do a lot for your mindset and your confidence and your business.
